How it lives in the room

Measure the circle plus six feet

A 42-inch top needs about 36 inches of clearance all round for chairs and passing. That makes the real footprint nine feet across — tape it out before ordering.

Build the base upside down

Cross bases assemble face-down on the carton, then get flipped with the top attached. Doing it that way keeps the legs square and the table level first time.
