Most under-bed drawers are fabric boxes on runners, and they hold laundry because that is all fabric sides can carry. These are built in reinforced metal, which moves them into a different job. How it lives in the room

Metal drawers can hold books

Put the dense things here: hardbacks, board games, hand tools, the boxed things with corners. Fabric drawers deform around anything heavy and then stop running straight. Metal sides keep the box square, which is what keeps the runners aligned over years. The trade is weight, so load the drawer in place rather than filling it on the floor and lifting.

One shelf, one small lamp at most

The open headboard shelf is shallow by design and it is at pillow height. A clock, a phone, a glass and a book sit on it. A table lamp with a wide base overhangs the front edge and gets caught by pillows every time the bed is made. Wall lights or a nightstand solve that; the shelf is for small things.

Music sync follows the phone only

Sound-reactive lighting responds to whatever it is given. Driven from the app it follows the track playing on that phone and nothing else. That is the mode for an album. It is also why the lights do nothing when the sound comes from a television or a separate speaker, which is the first thing people assume is broken.

Black velvet hides marks and shows lint, pale hair and every thread from a towel. Keep a roller in the room rather than two floors away. Nothing about the fabric is fragile; it simply reports dust in a way that beige does not.
