Six sizes in the range, all cut from this fibre, and the swatch is the only way to see the thing that photographs badly: four separate shades of green twisted together, including the dead straw tones that stop synthetic grass reading as a single flat colour. On a screen that blend disappears. In the hand it is obvious, and it is also obvious whether those particular greens suit a garden that is mostly brick, mostly paving or mostly planting.

How it lives in the room

Take the four shades outdoors

Daylight is the only fair test for a product that will spend its life outside. Lay the square on the actual surface, soil or concrete or decking, at the time of day the area gets looked at most. Turf chosen indoors tends to be a shade too blue; held against real planting in real light the right choice is usually immediate.

Flatten it, then brush it back

The recovery claim is worth testing on something disposable. Press the pile flat with a heel, leave it, then brush against the lay with a stiff brush and see how much comes back. Sun does the same job over about three days. Knowing how this fibre behaves before a dog, a paddling pool or a patio chair sits on it is useful information.

Pour water through the backing

Turn the square over and look at the grooves and holes, then run a cup of water through it over a sink. That is the whole drainage story, and for anyone buying this as a dog patch it is the part that decides the thing. If water sits on top rather than going through, the problem is the surface underneath, not the turf.

Before you order

A swatch this size answers colour and drainage questions and nothing about seams, infill or how a large sheet lies. Landscape nails and seam tape are not part of the range either, so they have to come from somewhere else.
