Most bed frames assume the bed floats with a walkway on both sides. This one is designed for the arrangement small bedrooms actually use: one long side pushed against a wall. That changes where the drawers go. With a wall on the left, both drawers must open right or at the foot, and the four available positions exist precisely so you are not left with a drawer that opens into plaster. Decide the corner before assembly and the bed configures itself around it.

How it lives in the room

Pick the wall side before you build

Stand in the room, decide which long side goes against the wall, and build the drawers on the other. Swapping them afterwards means emptying and unbolting.

A corner bed needs one nightstand, not two

The headboard shelf covers the wall side. Buy one nightstand for the open side and let the shelf serve the other — that is nine or ten inches of floor recovered in a room that did not have it.

Make the wall side once a week

A queen against a wall is genuinely awkward to make. Pull it out eighteen inches on laundry day, do both sides properly, push it back. Trying to tuck sheets over a wall is how corners come loose every night.

Before you order

Twelve slats, three steel bars, 1000 lb. The steel bars run across the width, which is what lets the frame sit with one side unsupported by a walkway without twisting — a lighter frame pushed hard against a wall for years develops a lean you can see from the door.
