The charging station on this bunk is movable and there is exactly one of it. It mounts anywhere on the upper frame, which is where the problem of power on a bunk usually sits, and it leaves the lower sleeper with whatever the wall provides. In a shared room that is worth settling early: the top deck gets the two USB ports and the Type-C, the bottom deck gets a nightstand or a wall outlet. Two children and one charging point is otherwise a nightly negotiation.

How it lives in the room

One charging station, two sleepers

Mount it on the upper deck where a hand lands from the pillow, then solve the lower bunk separately with a nightstand or a short wall cord. Pretending one station serves both decks is how a cord ends up stretched across a ladder. The 8-foot cord is measured to reach a wall outlet by way of the frame, not to reach a second sleeper.

Eleven inches under is the only storage

There are no drawers on this frame, so the 11.2 inches beneath the lower bunk is the whole of the bed's storage. That height takes a cabin case lying flat or a wheeled bin, and wheels are the right answer in a child's room. Anything left loose under a bunk eventually becomes something a child stands on to reach the upper deck.

The top opening sets the ladder side

The ladder reverses left or right and the climb finishes through an opening in the guardrail. Put that opening where the child steps off onto clear floor rather than onto the lower bunk or against a wall, then fit the ladder to match. Working it out with a mattress already on the top deck means doing the job twice.

Before you order

Round tube at 1.5 inches has no square edge for a shin to catch, which is the reason it is used on a bed children climb. It also means clamp-on lamps and hooks made for flat rails will not grip. Use the four hooks supplied.
