How it lives in the room

That number is a static rating for the whole frame, spread over nine legs. It is not a promise about any single point. What it really tells you is that the steel is oversized for two adults, which is why the frame stays quiet: nothing in it is working near its limit. Beds squeak when parts flex against each other, and flex is what a generous rating buys you.

Set the backrest before the mattress goes on

Three angles sounds like a feature you adjust nightly. In practice everyone picks one and leaves it. Sit on the bare frame with a pillow, pick the angle that supports your lower back when you read, and lock it there. Changing it later means clearing the bed.

Wipe, do not scrub

PU leather has a coating over a fabric backing. Mild soap and a soft cloth keeps it; solvents and abrasive pads take the coating off in patches that cannot be repaired. Once a year, a leather conditioner on the headboard slows the fine cracking that eventually shows on any coated surface.

Before you order

The recommendation is a 10-inch mattress and the ceiling is 12. Go thicker and the headboard stops being a backrest — the top edge lands below your shoulder blades and you end up propping pillows against it, which is what the adjustable angle was meant to replace.
