Level matters more than surface. The frame will stand on grass, gravel or a slab, but a leg sitting two inches low puts a permanent twist in the top bars and the tarp never sits flat again. Walk the footprint with a length of timber and a level before anything comes out of the box.
Two people build the tube frame loose, square it by measuring both diagonals, then tighten. The tarp goes over last and is pulled down with bungee ball ties every couple of feet — elastic on purpose, so the cover can move in wind instead of tearing at the eyelets.
Roll the mesh windows up in summer and the space stays cool enough to work under. Rolled down, they still breathe, which is what stops condensation forming on a car stored for a season.
This size is not rated for snow load. If winter here means more than an inch sitting on a roof, drop the tarp before the first storm or choose the steel-roofed metal carport instead.
