The adjustable headboard on this frame is not a comfort setting, it is a fitting operation, and it is done once. The panel slides up or down so its lower edge meets the top of the mattress no matter how thick that mattress is. Get it right and the bed looks made in a factory; get it wrong and there is either a two-inch gap where pillows disappear, or the panel overlaps the mattress and the pillows sit forward. Both are permanent-looking mistakes that take ten minutes to avoid.

How it lives in the room

Fit the mattress, then the headboard

Bolt the frame, lay the mattress, and only then set the panel height with the mattress compressed under someone’s weight. An uncompressed foam mattress reads an inch taller than it sleeps.
