How it lives in the room

Find the warm ring

On the first evening, light the burner and move one chair in and out until you find the distance where the heat is comfortable at half throttle. That circle is where the seating lives — sitting too close means running the burner low all night and wasting the output you paid for.

Let deep cushions do their job

Seven inches of foam sits you back and slightly reclined, which is right for a fire and wrong for eating. If you plan to serve food out there, plan on the coffee table taking the load, or move a side table in.

End of evening

Close the tank valve, not just the control knob, and let the tray cool before the cover goes on. A warm cover traps moisture against the burner, which is the slow way to a corroded ignition.

Before you order

The adjustable leg knobs are worth setting properly on a deck. Fire table and seating at slightly different heights reads as sloppy from across the yard, and levelling takes five minutes once.
