Build it with two people and 90 minutes

It ships in two boxes that may arrive on different days, so do not open either until both are in the house — half a console is a very awkward thing to store.

Flames on with the heat off is the setting most people end up living with: the effect year-round, the warmth only in January.

Before you order

Keep the front of the insert clear — no blankets folded on the hearth line, no rug edge riding up against it. Overheat protection will cut the element, but the sensible clearance is a few inches of empty floor.
