Most of this range opens by a cut lip rather than hardware, so a chest with metal pulls is a different proposition. A handle can be hooked with one finger when both hands are full, it gives a straight pull that never racks the drawer front, and it is also the part a child grabs. It protrudes into a hallway, catches a sleeve, and works loose faster than a concealed fixing because every opening pulls on the same two screws. On a 44.5-inch cabinet in a corridor, measure the clearance to the handle face, not to the drawer.

How it lives in the room

Measure to the handle, not the front

Hardware adds an inch or two to the depth of any chest, and a corridor measurement taken at the carcass is wrong by exactly that much. Measure from the wall to the face of the pull, then check two people can still pass. It is the figure that decides whether a 44.5-inch chest belongs in a hallway at all.

Two drawer sizes, two jobs

The smaller drawers are for what gets lost in a deep one: socks, belts, chargers, keys. The larger ones take folded clothing. Loading both the same way wastes the layout, and a small drawer stuffed with knitwear is the quickest route to a drawer that binds on its own frame.

Keep a screwdriver near the hardware

Exposed pulls carry every opening through two screws, and they slacken. A quarter turn on each handle a month after the build, and again at the change of season, keeps the fronts tight. A pull left loose chews its own hole in engineered wood, and that particular damage does not reverse.

Before you order

Published detail on this chest runs to the height, the two drawer sizes and the hardware, and no further. Interior drawer dimensions are unknown, so measure on arrival before ordering dividers or deciding what each drawer has to hold.
