The compromise in most sofa beds is a metal frame you can feel through the mattress. This one has no frame at all: eight inches of dual-layer high-density foam under wide-wale corduroy, zipped into sections that fold into a sofa, a lounge chair, a daybed or a flat 75 by 69-inch sleeping surface.
